Building Character, Changing Lives
Part of growing up is learning to help with the chores that need to be done. Maybe you already do this at your house. It builds character and makes you into a stronger person. It also helps your parents.
Wouldn’t it be great if every time you did your chores, you could change lives by helping people hear about Jesus and His gift of eternal life? Hearing about Jesus could change their lives forever! Gospelink has a program for kids which can build your character while it changes lives on the other side of the world. Here’s how it works:
Coming soon, we will have a "Building Character, Changing Lives" monthly calendar form for you to download and print. For now, here's what you can do: search on Google for a calendar for the current month. Print it out and ask your parents to help you select one chore to do each day during the month. If you already have chores which you do, maybe you could add one more to your list and place it on your calendar.
Ask your parents if they would agree to give you a small amount every day you complete your chore. Maybe they would give you 25 cents each day. For 25 cents, Gospelink can purchase two Gospel tracts and distribute them to someone in Africa.
Each day you complete your chore, ask your parents to initial your calendar. Remember to do your best, and try not to miss any days. Doing a job well each day builds character.
At the end of the month, ask your parents to help you add up the total and write a check for that amount. The check should be made payable to Gospelink. Send it to: Gospelink, P.O. Box 4299, Lynchburg, VA 24502, Attn: Building Character, Changing Lives.
After Gospelink receives your funds, they will purchase the Gospel tracts (2 for every 25 cents) and deliver them personally to people in Africa. To see some pictures of people receiving these Gospel tracts, click here.
Maybe you could select a different chore each month. Just imagine how many people you could help in a year. And, maybe you could tell a friend about the Building Character, Changing Lives Program. Together, you could double the number of people who can be helped.
