Scripture for Scripture

“Thy Word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against God.” That’s a special promise found in the Book of Psalms. The Bible is such an important book for every Christian to learn. One of the best ways to learn something is to memorize it. And, when you memorize the Scripture, it is hidden in your heart forever to help you live a life that is pleasing to God.

Wouldn’t it be great if every time you memorized God’s Word, you could help someone who didn’t have a Bible to receive one? Well, there is a way. Gospelink has a program called Scriptures for Scripture. Here’s how it works:

Coming soon, we will have a "Scripture for Scripture Sponsorship Sheet" for you to download and print off. For now, you can simply create a list of verses you would like to commit to memory.

Ask people to sponsor you as you memorize your verse. The sponsorship amount is only 25 cents. Most people can afford that amount and would love to help. If you can get just 10 people to sponsor you, you will receive enough to purchase one Bible for someone on the other side of the world. Wouldn’t that be awesome? You can ask anybody to sponsor you: your parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, older brothers and sisters, and friends of the family.

Ask each person who agrees to sponsor you to write their name on your sheet. When you have memorized your verse, go back to each sponsor and say your verse to them. Remember, you need to know it well when you say it to them.

Collect the funds from each sponsor, give it to your parents, and ask them to write one check for the full amount. The check should be made payable to Gospelink. Send it to: Gospelink, P.O. Box 4299, Lynchburg, VA 24502, Attn: Scriptures for Scripture.

After Gospelink receives your sponsorship funds, they will purchase a Bible and deliver it personally to someone on the other side of the world.

Maybe you could memorize one verse each month. If you do, then you can help twelve people receive a Bible this year. Or, maybe you could tell your friends at church about the Scriptures for Scripture Program. Just imagine how many Bibles could be given out if all your friends follow your example!
