John Prater Bio

John grew up in Huntsville, Alabama and attended Samford University, Southwestern Seminary, and Trinity Seminary.  He served as a pastor for twenty-five years in Virginia, Alabama, and Georgia.  John has ministered overseas in Honduras, Mali, Guinea, and Tanzania.  In September, 2010, John left the pastorate to begin assisting Gospelink in sharing the Gospel around the world.

As a representative with Gospelink, John speaks at churches, schools and organizations throughout the USA encouraging Christians in missions and locating sponsorships for national preachers. Internationally, John helps provide oversight for the national preachers in Tanzania.

John’s wife, Brenda, grew up as a MK in Taichung, Taiwan.  They have been married for twenty-three years.  Their oldest daughter, Alyssa is a senior at Anderson University (South Carolina).  Their youngest daughter, Kelly, is a freshman at Samford University. The Prater’s live in Appling (near Augusta, Georgia) where they enjoy camping, bike riding, water sports, and hiking.
