Kapila Ngombe
S Congo

Kapila was born into a religious family and went to church as he was raised. He went mainly by obligation of his parents. But though he went to church weekly, he was far from God. Instead of living for Him, he lived a worldly lifestyle.

After finishing his education, he was given a job as headmaster of a Christian school.  This school required him to attend chapel everyday where someone would lead out in a Bible study and they would sing and pray for those with spiritual needs.  It was these things that led to an interest in Jesus Christ and in Salvation.  After some days the leader of the school’s religious program called Kapila into his office to speak to him about the love of God and to present to him the full plan of salvation. Upon his explanation, Kapila found brokenness and had a time of confession and repentance, accepting Jesus as Savior.

Kapila is married to Katayi. They have built quite a family (pictured above). Katayi was born into a church-going family that was also far from God. Once married, Katayi came to know Christ after seeing the change in Kapila's life. As they grew in the things of God together, they began to feel a desire to serve God with their lives. This was especially true when they saw people who were in similar situations as their own. After having some discussions with several elderly Christians, Kapila felt that God was calling him into the ministry. After sharing this burning desire with his family, they began to pray for him, that he would know what God’s will was concerning this matter. One Sunday, soon thereafter, Kapila heard a sermon about responding to God's call upon our lives, he agreed to serve the Lord in ministry.
