Patrick was born and raised in a family which did not know Christ, but rather were traditionalists who worshipped ancestral spirits.  He was sent to a mission school, where he received his primary education.  It was at that school where he first heard about Jesus.  One Sunday, a preacher gave a sermon which was essentially a narration of Patrick's weak areas.  When he gave the invitation, Patrick came to the front with tears of repentance.  After being counseled, he surrendered his life to Jesus.

Siboniso, Patrick's wife, was raised in a religious home in a rural area.  She was very religious, but totally lost.  After completing her primary education, she visited some relatives in Bulawayo, whose neighbors fellowshipped at a nearby church.  They invited Siboniso to church, and she attended for some time, but did not make any serious commitment to the Lord.  Early in 1971, the Lord used Pastor Herbert Neely in a wonderful way.  After he preached one Sunday, Siboniso surrendered her life to the Lord.  She has been faithfully serving the Lord since that time.  She is a real blessing and help to Patrick in the work of the Lord. The Lord used him mightily in that meeting.  The Lord used a young speaker to call Patrick into full-time ministry.  In November 1974, Patrick quit his job and enrolled in Bible college.  Since then, he has seen the hand of the Lord upon his life, and many thousands have come to know the Lord as their Savior.
