Birthday: 02/14/2003
David Kagenza is form Congo D.R. His father passed away three days after rebels attacked him demanding all the valuables that he had. David’s father was severely beaten by the rebels right in front of his family. David’s mother was in shock from her husband’s death and lost all her property and belongings to the rebels. Not too long after that she was diagnosed with breast cancer and lost her life in January of 2011.
I grew up in the same village where David and his family lived. My family and I often visited our relatives living there. Since David had no relatives, my mother took care of the her funeral expenses. After the funeral, my mother offered to let me take over the custody of David and his sister, Umutoni. I agreed to it right away and took both kids to my home. I knew that they needed someone else to help take care of them.
The orphan sponsorship will help David to have a better future. It has been tough for me to provide for both David and his sister along with my family. The sponsorship will provide David with food, clothes, and shelter. Moreover, it will pay for his school tuition, stationaries, uniforms etc. So, thank you for helping to give David a brighter future and to cultivate Christian values in him.
David is a good kid, and I am thankful to God for making him a part of my family. He loves playing football with other kids and science is his favorite subject at school. His favorite foods are beans and potatoes, and his favorite color is blue. The Lord has blessed us by allowing David to receive your prayers and financial support. I am also thankful to you for making personal sacrifices to help deprived children like David. May our God richly bless you for your kindness.
