Kapinga Therese
#148114
Birthday: 02/02/2000
Kapinga is a Congolese child. She has been through a lot of hardship. When she was only two her father passed away due to throat cancer. Her mother, Masau, was unable to support Kapinga and her three other siblings. Her condition worsened in August of 2003 when her mother passed away due to sickness, and left Kapinga and her siblings without hope.
Bijikiyayi, Kapinga’s father, was my nephew. He was more like a son to me than a nephew because he lived with my family until he was married. He helped me with church chores and was a man of strong faith. I felt it was my duty as family, and as a pastor, to take care of Kapinga and her brothers.
So far, I have been able to manage to provide food, shelter and clothes for Kapinga. However, the expenses have grown and for an old person like me, with a limited income, things have been difficult for me recently. Education is very important to us, but I am afraid that without any additional help I will not be able to afford it in the near future. So, please help Kapinga to stay in school and provide her an opportunity to pave her own path to success.
Kapinga is a quiet child, but she likes to play jump rope with her friends. Her favorite food is rice and meat and loves the color blue. The only language she knows is Swahili and she loves reciting poems and stories at school. I thank you for giving a chance to Kapinga to have a better life. Thank you once again for supporting orphan scholarship and making dreams come true for orphans like Kapinga.
