A Global Christmas
Letter from the President
RE: Mission Operations
Gospelink is serving in 15 nations in Africa, Asia, and Eurasia and providing monthly financial assistance to nearly 1,250 national leaders. Last year, these leaders evangelized over 15,000 new areas and started over 2,500 churches. The preachers also reported over 265,000 conversions. In addition to this major focus on evangelism, discipleship, and church planting, Gospelink operates two schools, a university, a clinic, and an orphanage.
As you can imagine, the expenses to accomplish these objectives and maintain these humanitarian endeavors are extensive. We try to streamline the expenses everywhere we can. For example, the cost per conversion last year was only $13.06. That is remarkably low. Further, as a mission, we have made a choice to distribute as much as we can of what we receive to those in need. Last year, 88.5% of every dollar we received was distributed to the mission programs. That’s well above the accepted norm for fiscally responsible non-profit organizations.
In 2018, we hope to begin serving in Venezuela, Colombia, Nicaragua, Cuba, and Nepal. The projects we hope to launch should result in a penetration into many unreached people groups, the establishment of hundreds of missional, multiplying church plants, and the salvation of a host of precious souls.
In addition to the revenue generated for mission operations through the various sponsorship programs and the support received for our missionary staff, we need $275,000 in unrestricted gifts each year to operate in the black. That’s $750 per day!
We’re doing what we can for God’s kingdom and trying to be good stewards of the funds you so generously give. As you consider some of the opportunities in this Christmas catalog, please pray about what you might give to the mission operations to help Gospelink continue to advance the gospel globally for another year.
Thank you for your consideration,
