There are more than 150 million documented orphans worldwide. Yet, this number does not include the 150 million street children, more than 1 million traficked children, and tens of thousands of child soldiers. As Christians, we are specifically called to care for the orphaned and the fatherless. The Bible speaks of “pure religion” being to help the orphan and widow in their distress (James 1:27).
Types of Sponsorship
Gospelink protects vulnerable children and orphans by offering two types of sponsorships that provide for their immediate needs and care. Through both of these orphan care methods, Gospelink is able to provide these children with the opportunity they need to grow physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually in a loving, family environment.
The primary method of orphan care offered by Gospelink is in the homes of national leaders who have taken orphans into their homes and provide for their daily needs.
The other method of orphan care is in orphanage facilities operated by Gospelink. Orphans in these facilities live with a father and mother in a family environment.
